I am so glad our room steward left them there and did not change them out daily. I have not read everyone's replies, but I have cruise on the large, medium, and smaller Carnival ships. I just got off the Fascination the 7th of this month, and they are still doing the towel animals. I know sometimes on the bigger ships, they do the towel animals on the lido deck also, and have many sitting out around the pool area for everyone to see.
FUN ON DECK
I just loved seeing the smiles on my girls’ faces as we entered the room. During our last cruise, I discovered that there is a towel animal folding class during each sailing and I quickly marked it down on my family’s ‘must do’ list. The thought of learning how to make our own towel animals was exciting and I just knew it would be a great way for us to spend time together on our trip. I love walking the decks and seeing the creativity and care that goes into each of the Carnival Cruise Towel Animals. Here are some of our favorite towel animals from our Carnival Cruises. If you love Carnival Cruise towel animals I have to share with you my favorite way to see tons of towel animals.

Latest edition of “Towel Creations” released by Carnival Cruise Lines
The reasoning given for the rumor is that the towel animals “take too much excessive time” and therefore detract from a stateroom attendant’s other duties as they clean multiple cabins. If you guessed "towel animals," you've been on a cruise before -- or have at least spent a lot of time here on Cruise Critic. Carnival isn't the only line that has the animals these days, so we asked our Facebook fans to share their favorite photos from their own cruise experiences. They certainly delievered—swinging monkeys, entire menageries, even life-sized humans all folded from stacks of white terry cloth.
Most stewards even add eyes and nostrils to their creations, and some may even add accessories to personalize the friends, such as sunglasses, caps, beads, rose petals or other accents. Get all your cruise accessories for your next cruise vacation. We started day one on the Carnival Breeze with this peacock/turkey. I am honestly not sure which one it is but I loved walking into our room and finding it on the bed.
With your left hand grab the two tips on the left and with your right hand grab the two tips on the right and pull them gently apart (step 8 and 9). Fold the towel in half again so half the crease is facing downwards and the other half is on the top (step 5). Flip the towel over so the crease is facing downwards (step 4). I was happy to see that a portion of the book proceeds go to St. Jude Children’s Hospital – a cause that is near to my heart, along with Carnival’s. It is a small, but helpful way to give back while I’m on vacation. Sadly, I had to stay cooped up in the room because of severe sunburn.
Instead, if the animals are disassembled after being enjoyed for the evening, the same towels can be reused for new friends the next night. Yes, it does take a couple of minutes to craft that fluffy white elephant, floppy-eared dog, or other towel animal. You can use the towels on the ship and even while in port.
Perfect your own favorite towel animal with the following tutorials from the towel animal experts at Carnival Cruise Line. You'll have a mini-zoo full of new, slightly starched friends in no time. If they prefer, guests can ask attendants to skip the towel animals altogether.
Towel Creations is available in the gift shops aboard all Carnival ships, as well as from the line’s stateroom stewards. The book can also be ordered via the Gifts & Services section of carnival.com and delivered to guests’ staterooms. I have sailed with Carnival a few times now, but I still attend their towel folding classes on every single sailing as I just love making those towel animals. When towel animals appear in your cabin, you are welcome to keep them around throughout the cruise, but it can be helpful to the cabin steward if you gently disassemble any you don’t need to keep.
My girls find it so magical and it’s always a topic of discussion at dinner every evening, trying to decide what type of towel animal might be greeting us when we return to our stateroom. They are still doing them and the extra towels come in handy since the cut the number of times cleaning the rooms. To create the head of your towel dog, lay out your second towel flat on the floor just like you layed out your first towel (step 1) and fold in half the long way (step 2). Congratulations, you have created the body of your towel dog (step 10) where the head will be placed on later. Slightly pull out the little tips of the towel, of the four little roles you created (step 6 and 7) to make the “paws” and give the legs some shape. Lay one of the towels out flat in front of you (step 1) and roll one side of the towel to the middle from the shorter end (step 2) and do the same with the other side (step 3).

Among the more elaborate creations include the huge alligator some guests might find lounging on their stateroom bed or even human-like figures crafted in part from guests’ own clothing or accessories such as hats and sunglasses. While we don’t typically use our stroller while we are on the ship, we have found it helpful to have an umbrella stroller on the days we are in port. There’s no need to bring one from home though, you can rent strollers on the ship at the kids camp. I always have the urge to bring along a computer, in case I get the urge to write while I’m sailing. However, having a computer completely defeats the point of being on vacation!

This is one of the towel animals that you normally learn to make when you attend a towel folding class on board as it is relatively easy to make. I remember the first towel animal I saw during my first cruise. I thought that was such a lovely thought and it totally made my day.
If you walk the hallways while the housekeeping crew is cleaning you can see each crew members special towel animal on their carts. These are the towel animals that they have created and taken the time to design. Is there anything as joyful and pure as a cruise ship towel animal? Luckily, you don't need to be on a cruise to unlock the magic of how to make towel animals.
Carnival Cruises literally wrote the book on these animals (Carnival Towel Creations, which sells about 6,000 copies each month), and it first appeared on the company's cruise ships about 15 years ago. As Myszewski tells the story, a housekeeping member from Thailand started folding his guest’s clothes into the shapes of animals while making the rounds; guests liked it, and other staff members picked up the technique and moved onto towels. Cruise passengers don’t have to wait for the evening turndown service or ask their steward to see their favorite towel animals, however.
It’s become standard practice, with about 100 animals on the roster and more coming—Myszewski says they’re trying to fashion a koala and kangaroo for the line’s first cruise to Australia this fall. “If we don’t make them, [people will] go straight to guest services and complain that there are no animals,” says Carnival’s senior housekeeping manager Marcin Myszewski, about how popular the critters are onboard. Fold the corners or tips of your triangles towards the middle of your crease (step 5 and 6) and roll the sides up to the middle (step 8 and 9). Put one finger in the middle of the towel on the top and grab the left corner of the top layer of the towel and fold it so it resembles some sort of triangle (step 3).
